Co-host Pati Pierucci tells us about that gorgeous, chatty chicken, the mille fleur d’uccle:
“[The name] literally translates to “thousand flower of Uccle [in Belgium]”, and if you look at the bird, you can see why they came up with the name, because they’re very beautiful chickens. Completely captivating. They have tons of personality…very curious by nature, and chatty — not overly loud, just very talkative. However, the rooster can have a little bit higher pitch than a normal rooster, so that’s something to keep in mind. They’re not very big, but what they lack in size they certainly make up for in personality. They’re wonderful, interactive little birds. They actually make a nice little lap chicken, and are definitely suitable for kids. They’re very inquisitive, they love to check out new things. They’ll fly onto your shoulder, get on your lap…they really are quite cute. And they are very good flyers…”
