“Halflinger horses are incredibly interesting, with a great story…they’re a blondish-looking horse that originated in Austria and Northern Italy, and are a relatively small, compact horse. They’re best known for their hardiness, meaning that they don’t eat a lot, they’ve got good feet you don’t have to worry about treating them like princesses or princes…they’re very easy to stay out in the fields and live, you know, off the land. Which is a good thing.

They were originally bred for use out in the mountains, and they’re very desired as a great all-around horse. They have multiple different uses for under-saddle; the Haflinger can be a dressage horse, vaulting, you can use them for harness or trail or jumping. But they have just exquisite personalities and they’re just adorable! They’re great for therapeutic programs as well, because they’re small and they’re very stocky and sturdy, which is great…”
