Originally from Pennsylvania, Jim Koford grew up riding in Pony Club, eventing, dressage, hunters, and equitation. He initially wasn’t looking for a career in horses and went to college at Wake Forest University (NC) and got a job in advertising at Equus magazine. Thanks to a horse named Art Deco, Jim got the push he needed to pursue riding full time. He has personally taken countless horses to the Grand Prix and trained and worked abroad in Germany with Michael Klimke. His talent alone is not what makes Jim so good at what he does, but it’s the love and bonds he shares with his horses. He is renowned for taking some of the most difficult and unconventional horses up the FEI levels.
Jim is a Grand Prix Dressage rider and trainer as well as a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist.
